After much consideration, I’ve realized I need a bigger truck to tow my xj that I’ve been building out. I absolutely love this truck and put an insane amount of hours/love into building it out (search my name in this group to see some of the work that was done to it). I’m the 3rd owner (might be 2nd can’t remember) and bought from a local used car dealer. It had 160k (or 156k i don’t remember). It’s been a California truck its whole life so no frame rust. This truck is primarily used for camping trips with mild off-roading involved and has never left me stranded. Aside from camping it sits parked. I’ve put less than 3k miles on it in the past two years. Absolutely no leaks at all. All maintenance was done by me (aside from alignments and tire changes) most of it was done as recent as (190k) including:
Motor/powertrain:
-new gates water pump/timing belt kit (lifetime warranty through rock auto. Used this kit on multiple other tundras without any failures)
-new gates belt tensioner and pulley (lifetime warranty)
-new gates fan bracket and pulley (lifetime warranty)
-new duralast radiator and rad hoses (lifetime warranty)
-new fan clutch
-new gates serpentine belt
-new jba shorty headers with CA compliance sticker for smog purposes.
-oem cats/resonator in place with Kieth carty’s muffler (hardly any drone at high speeds)
-volant CAI (best for highway mpg compared to stock)
-new coils/spark plugs
-oil changes @3500-4k miles or after larger road trips require lots of driving. Only used t6 rotella 10w-30 paired with Mobil1 oil filters. Always comes out clean
-OEM cv axles still being used but rebuilt with 930 high angle inner cv boots and new napa outter cv boots
-new carrier bearing
-4.88 gearing with all new koyo bearings and timken seals (front and rear) factory lsd/using Lucas gear oil
-new rear wheel bearings/c clip/seals/retaining ring/speedo gear
-wheel bearings were changed when I first got the truck at 160k (very slight hum, still have life left but could be changed if wanted to)
-drain and refill on trans. No issues with trans whatsoever
Suspension/steering/brakes:
-lower ball joints replaced with new OEM purchased at my local Toyota dealership
-new tie rod ends(with zero fittings)/inners
-new steering bellows
-new daystar poly bushings in LCA
-poly bushings for steering rack mounts
-stainless brake lines only in the front (newer Tacoma lines that are longer)
-new oreileys calipers (lifetime warranty)
-drilled and slotted rotors
-duralast elite ceramic brake pads (lifetime warranty)
-total chaos uniball uca’s with zerk fittings at the bushings
-total chaos spindle gussets (helps with running 35’s)
-fox factory 2.5 w/resi’s extended travel coilovers rebuilt about 15k miles ago
-SOS performance rear disc brake conversion (used oem calipers/lines)
-new rear rotors
-new duralast gold brake pads
-wilwood manual brake proportioning valve
-brake fluid replaced about 10k miles ago
-archive garage medium duty leaf springs put on about 6k miles ago
-rancho adjustable shocks that came with truck (they actually work really well with weight that’s why I haven’t changed them out)
-Firestone airbags with cradles (doesn’t limit travel in the rear while offroad/better comfort) - airlines to the bags are tied together (one shrader valve for easy fill) but do have a ball valve to isolate each bag (better sway control)
Electrical:
Interior-
-compustar remote start alarm (lock works / unlock not wired (couldn’t figure out the resistor part) remote start works great and is an awesome feature
-Sony touch screen head unit with Bluetooth and wired CarPlay
-kicker 4ch mini amp behind rear seats for door speakers
-infinity kappa series speakers on all 4 doors (component fronts / coaxial rear)
-Polk audio mono amp under driver seat with remote for bass
-alpine type r 10” sub in custom enclosure sitting behind center console
-Baja designs squadron sport combo lights (2 used as fog/2 used as ditch lights)
-usb charger in place of cigarette lighter
-van top rear view mirror dash cam/backup cam with gps (speedometer/location display)
-LED interior lighting (cluster/center console/dome/doors/glove box/step light
Exterior-
-aux blue seas fuse panel under hood
-winch control box behind airbox
-808 retrofit projector headlights w/ LED bulbs (great cutoff and plenty bright)
-LED bulbs used in third brake light
-LED DOT approved taillights/reverse lights
-big group 31m agm battery
-badlands 12k winch with synthetic rope
Body:
-paint fade on hood/roof/fender edges (get over it, it’s a 21 year old truck and was used happily offroad)
-boxed in rear frame with 3/16 steel with tube x brace in place of factory spare tire carrier (from cab up and outback to the end of the frame) this was done to help with the added weight of a flatbed camper I built
-steel flatbed with aluminum decking (just over 6ft wide x just over 7ft long. Headache rack matches factory bed height. Uses e track for tie down points. Plenty of them around the bed also no rattle from d rings. Storage boxes are lockable. 5ft slide out drawer made from aluminum with hd drawer sliders. Air fittings for airbags and air tank are mounted next to the driver side tail light
-on board air tank (maybe 5 gallon?) plumbed for front and rear fittings for easy tire air up. I also planned to tie the airbags into it with a gauge and switch that allows inflation and deflation from inside the cab. I have the parts just haven’t done it yet.
-first pair of sliders I ever built with a cheap hf flux core welder, welded directly to the frame. I’ve been waiting for them to fall off so I can build some nice new ones but they’re stout and plenty strong. Great for steps/prevent door dings/jacking point
-custom hybrid bumper I made. All steel. 3/16 core for winch and 1.75”x.120 round tube for the wings. Stout but light when compared to a full plated bumper.
-milestar Patagonia xt 34 skinny’s (275x85x17) brand new less than 2k miles on them with matching spare (had Yokohama 315/75/17 but they were too heavy for my liking with the camper)
If you’ve made it this far, congrats lol. But all of this info is useful for those that are really interested. I’m asking 15k for just the truck. THE PRICE DOES NOT INCLUDE THE CAMPER. THE CAMPER CAN BE SOLD WITH THE TRUCK IF INTERESTED. If interested in the truck and full flatbed camper reach out and I’ll let you know the details of it. Price for truck and camper is 30k. Thank you all for reading
